An in character meme in an OOC info post.
Beneath the cut lies 100 questions, all but the last answered IC. Have fun with all of that. This post is also open to comments. Unless they are dressed specifically to the mun, they will be answered in character.
Part One: The Basic Info
1. What is your full name?
Neomi Catheryn Wescott
2. Where and when were you born?
Station L-271, Fyria Quadrant of the Gran’Yon System.
3. Who are/were your parents?
My mother is Ghislaine Wescott. She works as an engineer on the station. She’s overbearing, but kind. My father is Arden Wescott, a researcher and head of development. He likes to seem gruff. I know they both simply want the best for me, our opinions just don't mesh all too often on that subject...
4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
Absolutely none, only child. Thank the known universe for that one.
5. Where do you live now, and with whom?
There’s not really a...permanent home. Whatever ship me and Xy’lo find ourselves with—it works, right? Guess I should talk about him a bit, but he gets on my nerves, and I'd rather not punch out the computer screen.
All right, all right...When he’s not being an ass, he’s nice. I could get on with him if he would just let up a little.
6. What is your occupation?
O-Oh man...I don’t have one. Used to, royally screwed that to hell and back. I wouldn’t exactly call what me and Xy’lo get into an occupational choice but uh, thief for hire?
7. Write a full physical description of yourself.
Right. I’m 5’6’’, average height among humans I guess, I feel short as hell regardless. Race is kind of null now, but I’m apparently descended from “Europeans” not that there has been a Europe anywhere for centuries. I like jumpsuits with shorts, and longer stockings—weird I know, but they’re comfortable. Black hair, green eyes. And I have a tattoo my mother still wants to be flay me for, a set of wings right on my shoulders—got it with the guys from the academy. Never drink with police cadets, it gets you inked one way or another.
8. To which social class do you belong?
The station didn’t have any really, socialist with the division of funds. But I guess my family had more power considering my parents’ jobs.
9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
Not that I know of. Maybe I’ll discover one...That wouldn’t be pretty. I guess when it comes down to it, my humanity is a weakness though—there are a lot of other alien races out there that can pretty much own us with just a look.
10. Are you right- or left-handed?
Right handed.
11. What does your voice sound like? What the hell kind of question is that?
Seriously I never thought of what my own voice sounds like. Guess I should go find that out.
12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
Uh I think cursing itself might be my catchphrase.
13. What do you have in your pockets?
The ship’s keys, I totally grabbed those when Xy'lo wasn’t looking...uh lint...my old multipass...wonder if I can still get to my account I have a lot saved up on that.
14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
I can be a bitch, and I’m not afraid to admit it—mostly it’s when someone gets on my nerves. I kind of have an attitude problem...I’ve gotten violent before. Total accident I swear!
Part 2: Growing Up
15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Lonely. My parents seemed to always be busy with work, and I didn’t get on well with the few children that lived on the station with us.
16. What is your earliest memory?
Pulling down some of my dad’s supplies in his lab. My hair was a mix of colors for months. I’m pretty lucky to not have gotten worse from that.
17. How much schooling have you had?
A great deal. Our station brought us up through university via an automated computer program. To be fair it was easy to cheat said system, but on paper I have a degree.
18. Did you enjoy school?
Well enough I guess, I’m definitely more of an active person—the biweekly trips to the station’s training fields were my favorite parts of the week.
19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
Self teaching or academy. I got bored a lot as a kid. I still chalk a lot of my circumstances up to luck regardless.
20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
Our captain, before we switched over. She was a tough and firm woman, and took no shit from anyone on that ship. I think she was more open than most of that crew to be honest.
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
It was just me, Mom, and Dad so...I got along with them fine at any rate.
22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
This is going to be so ridiculous…and adventurer—you know the classic go-save-the-universe type.
23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
Training fields, sports when I could get others to participate. I also dove into the garbage systems to see if I could find any neat junk.
24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
Oh I was an absolute nightmare for my parents. I think my mom was expecting a quiet good girl, and got an absolute brat of a tomboy instead.
25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
Oh lord no. I was not popular. I mean I wasn’t totally shoved into a corner, but I didn’t get close to too many people either.
26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
Our neighbor of sorts, Dirk...oh god. I was hoping that bit of history would never come up. I was thirteen and it was more of an accident really…Long story. One you won’t be hearing.
27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
No, I’m not. I was eighteen....long time boyfriend Jason. I was convinced that’s who I would end up with in life. God what an asshole he turned out to be.
28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
Just a human here. I’d say biggest influence was the two hour chat I had with a policing recruiter during his squads docking in our hangar. If it wasn’t for him I likely wouldn’t have joined the force. Then there was the training squad in academy that showed me squad’s like Linwood’s were rare and that I shouldn’t trust anyone but myself right out—if I had faith in the squad maybe I wouldn’t have been caught on my own with Xy’lo...I’d be caught up with the rest of them with the pirates...on second thought I’m kind of glad I didn’t trust the squad.
Part 3: Past Influences
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
The time at the academy...or well the mission that sent it all to hell.
30. Who has had the most influence on you?
Linwood from the academy...My parents...Xy’lo is having his own influence on me and I guess not all of it is bad or tied to my temper.
31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I can’t say I have an achievement I proud of enough to call my greatest...Actually getting out on my own and not having to rely on the station for livelihood might make the list.
32. What is your greatest regret?
Not having contact with my mother before the shipping mission. I’m not sure when or if I will get to see or talk to her again now...
33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
Theft? I don’t know I haven’t done much bad in my life. I refused to take part in the standard squad exercises in the force...
34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
I sure as hell do now.
35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
First stop Xy’lo took me on—that is the underbelly of the less than legal markets. I’ve never been more terrified.
36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
My first day in the academy. I didn’t realize the showers and changing rooms were co-ed…Let’s just...drop that.
37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
It would probably be the time I had with Jason, looking back I let myself become such a mess in that relationship.
38. What is your best memory?
I was sixteen, Mom invited me down the one of the holdings to help her work. I think that ended up being the best waste of three hours just talking with her while she works with the capacitors—learned a few things too.
39. What is your worst memory?
Remember the time I was most frightened? Just a few questions up? That would be it. Seriously, I have never been so skeeved in my life.
Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions
40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
Mix of both really, it depends on the situation and what factors into it. I can’t say I fall one way or another.
41. What is your greatest fear?
Being hurt by someone I care about again...
42. What are your religious views?
I believe there’s something out there, but I’m not sure who, or what, it is.
43. What are your political views?
That whole intergalactic law policy is total bullshit. There’s never going to be something that can work on that scale. I can fully say that after the first few years trying to police it. It just doesn’t work.
44. What are your views on sex?
It’s something to be done when ready and with someone you care for. I don’t just...sleep around thank you.
45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
If it comes down to it? Yes. Most kills have come down to saving another life, protecting my own life, or protecting someone who means something to me.
46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
Harm to the innocent, especially the young. Harming a grown person is one thing, harming a child is something completely different.
47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
...Maybe.
48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
Take every moment, and go through with as few regrets as you can have. Live to the fullest, basically.
49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
I will be honest and admit I’m not often completely honest with some people...
50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
I did, mostly from how my station is structured...life in the academy shocked a good deal of that out of me. I’ll admit I still need to work through some of it.
51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
Yes, I refused to sacrifice lives for the chance of a capture during my time in the force, regardless of the criminal’s crimes. I don’t believe we should needlessly harm others just for that record—there have to be other solutions.
52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
...My family...
... ...Xy’lo.
Part 5: Relationships With Others
53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
I can be pretty rude if I’m getting an attitude directed at me. Otherwise, I try and play nice—but I’m not all that open with complete strangers...
54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
........................I’m not answering this one. I’m just...not...
55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
My mother. She’s worked hard in her life and gotten somewhere for it...
56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
Can’t say I’d call him a friend half the time, but...outside of family Xy’lo probably knows the most about me right now.
57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.
No...not now anyway.
58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.
I thought I was once, but I was younger and an idiot. He didn’t think highly of me wanting to join the force and ended up leaving on the first transport job that got him out of there.
59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
Someone who knows me, respects me, and cares for me the way I care for them. I want to be equals...
60. How close are you to your family?
I can’t say we’re that close now considering the lack of communication, but we used to be really tight knit...I miss that at times.
61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
No, and not right now. One, someone to start a family with is kind of needed; and two, I’m not sure this life style is good to keep a family in…
62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
..........................Not answering this either.
63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
Good universe I swear this thing is just trying to get me to bring him up more. Stop it. I’m ignoring this question too.
64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
I’d like to think my family would miss me...
65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
My old squad captain. He was an idiot, a jerk, and an absolute perv. I’m pretty glad to be rid of him at least.
66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
Ooooooh I argue. Probably more than I should, but who cares?
67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
No, I let others lead for the most part. I prefer it and I’m used to it.
68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
Me and crowds? We don’t get along. At all. I hate crowds and larger groups. I feel well...like I’m drowning.
69. Do you care what others think of you?
On some level, yes, but I try not to let that control me...
Part 6: Likes And Dislikes
70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
I like tinkering with things, not really interested in doing anything with them, but it’s something to do with my hands when I’m bored. It comes from hanging around my mom. Exercise is a big part of my habits too...
71. What is your most treasured possession?
It’s an old charm my mom gave me, it’s on a bracelet...It’s a nexus. I’ve had it for so long...
72. What is your favorite color?
Silvers and reds...
73. What is your favorite food?
Not going to lie, I eat almost anything but I have a soft spot for fruit of any kind, especially if it’s a sweeter fruit. I've always been fond of strawberries...
74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
Not much of a reader. Though I guess if the story was interesting I could go for it.
75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
A good sound and beat...I like music so that’s where it’s at. I...tend to hum and sing to myself when I’m not thinking about it, it’s kind of embarrassing.
76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit?
I have a drink or smoke now and then to take the edge off but that’s it. And no, I don’t think I have to quit when it’s not a frequent habit.
77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
I don’t have Saturdays anymore, it feels like the days just flow into one another out here.
78. What makes you laugh?
A good deal of things. A good joke—a good one not a like….dirty one, so over played. I tend to laugh a lot when I’m just having a good time or if the person I’m with says something completely ridiculous and out there.
79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
I’m really offended when someone doubts me based on the fact I’m human and I’m female. It pisses me off to be honest. Outside of that...after opening my own views, looking back on the prejudices in my station and knowing they still exist there and elsewhere...
80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
...Perfect chance to see just what the hell is up with Xy’lo’s computer. I swear he keeps that thing glued to himself or something.
81. How do you deal with stress?
I try to work it off, and if I can’t it gets to be and I’ll likely end up hitting something...or someone...
82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
I like having a plan, but you have to be flexible—not everything can work with a plan. You have to be able to roll with the changes.
83. What are your pet peeves?
You know how some people start tapping their fingers, drumming them on things because it’s some weird habit or something? That noise, the drumming sound tends to irritate me and I have no idea why.
Part 7: Self Images And Etc.
84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
Wake up, check notices, do a job if there is one then get back to the ship, if there is room to be had take it up to exercise and work off some steam, eat, annoy Xy’lo, sleep. If this is thrown off...I don’t really care, anything to kill the monotony.
85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
I’m hardworking, I’ll do what I can to get the job done…I’d consider myself fairly intelligent considering how my schooling and time at the academy went. I can think on my feet.
86. What is your greatest weakness?
I can be stand-offish and I can come off as being closed off. I’m also an argumentative person, which I know can get me into all kinds of trouble. Not to mention my temper...
87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I’d say my temper, it’s one thing I can be ashamed of after it goes off...
88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
Mostly introverted, but with the right people I can seem extroverted.
89. Are you generally organized or messy?
Oh hell I have no organization.
90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
I'm good at bhysical tests—stamina, strength, distance running...name it and I could at least manage it. Cooking is another on, when given the chance to cook. And fuck it if I can think of a third.
Bad at? Oh jeez. Controlling myself in heated situations. Letting my walls down. And admitting I’m the one at fault. Ha my talents are actual talents, my flaws are definitely more personality go figure.
91. Do you like yourself?
Most of the time? Yeah, I do.
92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons...)
Let’s just say I pretty much fell into this situation, I didn’t choose it.
93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
I just...want to find a place or person I can be happy with. I think...we all kind of want to be happy, right? Ugh I hate sounding like such a sap.
94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hell if I know.
95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
Peacefully and without pain...
96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
Find a way home.
Admit to things I’ve been denying even to myself.
Let him know of those things...
97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
Hell if I know, most people I knew before all of this likely think me dead or sold probably. I’d just want them to know the truth, even if I don’t end up being remembered for it.
98. What three words best describe your personality?
Temperamental, closed, changing.
99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Isn’t that...kind of like the last question you just asked? Seriously.
[[100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? Open up, it wouldn’t hurt to let someone really know you.]]

Take every moment, and go through with as few regrets as you can have. Live to the fullest, basically.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
...My family...
... ...Xy’lo.

No...not now anyway.

Someone who knows me, respects me, and cares for me the way I care for them. I want to be equals...

61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
No, and not right now. One, someone to start a family with is kind of needed; and two, I’m not sure this life style is good to keep a family in…

I try to work it off, and if I can’t it gets to be and I’ll likely end up hitting something...or someone...

I’d say my temper, it’s one thing I can be ashamed of after it goes off...

Let him know of those things...
97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?

Temperamental, closed, changing.
99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Isn’t that...kind of like the last question you just asked? Seriously.
